A 19-year-old who burgled an elderly couple as they slept has been jailed.
Callum Junior Jones, of Llandygai Road, Bangor, appeared for sentencing at Caernarfon Crown Court yesterday, Monday 20 April. He previously admitted to two counts of burglary and theft.
In November 2025, Jones targeted two homes in Amlwch in the night as the residents were asleep. He used an axe to break into the porch and garage of an elderly couple’s home, damaging the porch and garage areas.
He also turned off their mains gas, leaving the elderly residents cold in the middle of winter.
On the same night, Jones also broke into a neighbouring property’s shed, causing further damage.
For these offences, he was jailed for two years and eight months.
Jones was also serving a previous suspended sentence which was activated following these incidents, bringing his total sentence to three years and four months.
He also received a 10-year restraining order to protect the victims.
Detective Constable Erin Davies said: “Callum Jones is well-known in the local area for causing issues in the community.
“This sentencing will be a relief to those who he has impacted, knowing that he will not be able to cause further harm to the residents of Amlwch.
“Everyone should feel safe inside their own home but Jones’ actions caused considerable distress to those he targeted.
“We continue to work closely with partners, local communities, and victims to prevent offending, support those affected, and deliver justice.”
