His former job as Director of Music at Rydal Penrhos School, saw him teaching, composing, arranging and improvising music, but he has also had two of his musicals performed locally; ‘Hot Wheelz’ and ‘Ebeneezer Scrooge’.

Like many musicians with today’s access to technology, Pete loves to make recordings in his spare time. "I have lots of hobby projects that I put onto YouTube, under different names; ‘LOBES’, ‘Ivor and the Discoverables’, ‘Pedro’s Recordshelf’, ‘The Eclectic Vibes’ ‘EOS’. I’m a big believer in getting the music in your head, out to be listened too".

A dedicated family man, Pete lives in Old Colwyn with his wife Eleri and three daughters.

I was a 15 year old kid wanting to be a ted but feeling I missed the boat. Then upon leaving school at 16 and working in London’s West End I found that I hadn’t missed the boat and I was in fact in the middle of a rock and roll revival and by the age of 18 I became a DJ in The Minerva in Southend on Sea.

Now a lifetime later I am still playing the rock and roll music the only difference is that you can hear me at home on your radio, mobile phone or computer.

Join me for my ‘Leon’s Rock and Roll Heaven Radio Show’ on Bayside Radio every Thursday from 8pm until 10pm and I will take you back to the 50s to the original rock n roll era and take you through the 70s revival and right up to the Rockin’ scene of today.

Having worked with and seen some of the best bands around it will be a true musical adventure, I will play you the best Rock n Roll, Rockabilly and Doo Wop music.

Music has always been an important part of Dilwyn’s life, from his early days as a trombonist with Llandudno Town Band in the 1960s to his years as a resident organist at local social clubs.

It was in 1974 that Dilwyn began his association with the brothers, Emyr and Elwyn. Together, they created a series of successful Welsh Cabaret Nights at the Four Oaks Restaurant in Eirias Park. In 1983, they went on to establish a company to produce programmes for S4C.

As the media industry developed in North Wales during the 1980s, Dilwyn worked as a Production Manager on several drama and documentary productions. During this time, Dilwyn also wrote the music for several Welsh pantomimes as well as signature tunes and incidental music for various S4C productions. From 1989 to 2005, he was the resident pianist at Bodysgallen Hall Hotel.

In 1998, he became a Lecturer in Media Production at Coleg Llandrillo where he worked full-time until he retired in 2016.

I love rock and alternative music, my favourite bands are Panic! At the Disco, The Pretty Reckless & Fall out boy! 

I have been heavily involved in radio since I was 15. My first taste of radio was when I volunteered on Hospital radio at Ysbyty Glan Clywd. I quickly fell in love with presenting and got myself two weekly shows on Tudno FM during my school years. I presented a Thursday drive time slot as well as co-hosting a late night show on Sundays at 10 til midnight! 

I then left Tudno FM when I went to Liverpool John Moore’s university to study Law. I instantly because a presenter on Looprevil student radio in my first year, Head of Music in my second year and in my final year I went on to become the Station Manager. 

During my time in these different radio stations I was involved in outside broadcasts, festival coverage, live performances and artist interviews and love embracing anything to do with music and live performance!

I’ve joined the Bayside team after a few years away from radio presenting and am so excited to be back on air!
